Alcohol Awareness Course

You could take alcohol awareness in a classroom, but wouldn't you rather take our ONLINE DADAP course instead?

Texas law authorizes Texas courts and judges to allow a person to take DADAP online instead of a traditional alcohol awareness or MIP course offered in a classroom. We recommend that you contact the judge or court to verify acceptance of the online DADAP course prior to registration. When ready, you can sign up by clicking on the REGISTER NOW button.

About DADAP Online

This online Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program (DADAP) is fully approved by the Texas Education Agency and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and can be taken for any of the following reasons:

  • Court Ordered – Alcohol / drug related offenses
  • Auto Insurance Discount – Save on your auto insurance
  • Driver Ed Recertification – Continuing education for licensed Texas driver ed instructors
  • Safety Training – General safety education

Have you been ordered by a Texas judge or court to complete an alcohol awareness course? The good news is that Texas law now gives courts and judges the option to accept Texas approved Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Programs (DADAP) to meet that requirement for various alcohol and drug offenses. However each case is unique, so it is important that you contact the court to verify eligibility prior to registration. In the past, if you needed an alcohol awareness program, your only option was to take a course in a classroom only in two separate sessions – 3 hours each day. With online DADAP the course is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week from anywhere with Internet access!

DADAPonline.com is the first company to offer the Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program (DADAP) on the Internet. This 6-hour course is an acceptable option for individuals who have been ordered by a Texas judge or court to complete a drug and / or alcohol awareness program and have received approval from the court or magistrate.

Texas Law and Drug and Alcohol Awareness Programs

Section 106.115 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code authorizes the use of approved Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Programs (DADAP) as an acceptable alternative to the classroom only Department of State Health Services Alcohol Awareness Program. The revised language is shown below and a reference to the Health and Safety code which is another law that allows for the use of DADAP for various drug and alcohol related offenses.

Section 106.115(a) of the Texas Alcohol Beverage Code:

"On the placement of a minor on deferred disposition for an offense under Section 49.02, Penal Code, or under Section 106.02, 106.025, 106.04, 106.041, 106.05, or 106.07, the court shall require the defendant to attend an alcohol awareness program approved by the Department of State Health Services under this section or a drug and alcohol driving awareness program approved by the Texas Education Agency."

Section 469.007 of the Texas Health and Safety Code:

"...the commissioners court of a county or a court may use other drug and awareness or drug and alcohol driving awareness programs to treat person convicted of drug or alcohol related offenses."

With an acceptable online option it is a win-win situation for both judges AND offenders! Since online DADAP is available to any offender in any locale at any time day or night, there is now a more flexible and convenient awareness course option available.
